Cristiano Ronaldo has shocked a fair few people by admitting he is sad and unhappy at Real Madrid.
What exactly he’s got to be sad about I don’t know, it must be a miserable experience playing for the biggest club in the world, under the best manager in the world, surrounded by some of best players in the world, in one of the best stadiums in the world and dating one of the most attractive women in the world, I mean that would be enough to wipe the smile off anybody’s face.
While more details of this may filter through in the coming days and weeks, I think one thing that should be immediately ruled out is him leaving Madrid, the only club in the world who can afford his buy-out clause is Man City, and I, and I imagine many others, would be surprised if he were to go there.
There is a rumour that the reason for his misery is that he lost the vote for UEFA’s Best Player in Europe award to Andres Iniesta, although he has denied this and insists it’s something behind the scenes.
The problem with Ronaldo is it’s hard to tell how serious things really are, because let’s face it he’s been known to throw the odd tantrum now and again.
Either there is something serious going behind the scenes that we’re not privy to or he’s just having another sulk, but whatever it is, if what he’s got now isn’t making him happy then nothing will.
