Simon Dyson could face expulsion from European Tour

Simon Dyson could be banned from the European Tour after signing an incorrect scorecard at last week's Shanghai Masters.

The Englishman, 35, was disqualified from the tournament after failing to add a two-shot penalty to his card.

After marking his ball on the eighth green during his second round, Dyson touched the ground in his putting line.

Dyson denies deliberately fixing a spike mark in the line of a putt, calling it an "accidental mistake".

I must start of by saying I’m a huge fan of golf, I don’t care how boring that makes me sound, but seriously Dyson could actually be banned for such an innocuous and innocent mistake.

Dyson was disqualified from the tournament he made the mistake in, leave it there, it’s so unnecessary to form a panel to debate whether he should ever be allowed to play on the tour again.

It’s like when you see a sign saying don’t walk on the grass and invariably somebody does because they haven’t seen the sign, if it were up to the European Tour that person could face life imprisonment.

Golf really needs to drag itself out of the dark ages and into the 21st century because even Sepp Blatter and FIFA look like modern progressive’s by comparison.

That was a depressing sentence to write.
