FA to consider B-teams in league shake-up

A new competition for Premier League and Championship clubs to field B teams will be considered by the Football Association on Wednesday.

It is being proposed that the teams could play in a league sandwiched between League Two and the Conference.

Another option is to merge League Two and the Conference with the B teams to form two regional leagues.

There’s no other way to look at this, it’s a stupid idea and it shouldn’t be considered or discussed and certainly shouldn’t be implemented.

For starters there are already youth teams and reserve teams for clubs to give their emerging talents a chance to prove themselves and there’s also the option to loan them out to other clubs so why do you need to create new leagues and squeeze them in somewhere, there’s no need.

This is unnecessary, needlessly complicated and if given the go ahead would be a complete mess and do more harm than good, I’m hoping when the bigwigs meet they realise this and drop these ludicrous plans.
